Stateline, Nevada, is named for its location bordering South Lake Tahoe and California. Stateline’s population is less than 900, but the town comes alive during the year’s peak periods, considering its convenient location for visitors. Stateline has four casino resorts: Bally’s, Harrah’s, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe, and Harveys Lake Tahoe. The Edgewood Tahoe Resort golf course lies along the shoreline and Heavenly Mountain Resort ski is on the California–Nevada border. Kingsbury Grade is also located within Stateline, which runs up and over a mountain pass, rising from Lake Tahoe and dropping down to the Carson Valley on the other side.
